Hi! I was looking around here and on google for an alternative for tampons, but I'm confused. I read the softcups have a sharp edge, is that true? What would be the advantage of for example the Lunette above Softcups? I read Softcups can only be used once, for infection risk. Why is that different with Lunette? I can't help but think it's very hard to clean the Lunette, if you're not at home, isn't it very.... unpleasant? They look so big..... Don't you feel them wearing them?
I have to be careful with my urethra, I can't irritate it, for then I have a bladderinfection. Is it easy to insert? I will come up with more questions I'm sure...
It would help if anyone could describe how they use them and how to deal with it in difficult situations. Thank you very much!! I can read Deutsch, so please don't feel the need to reply in English! Liebe Grusse Iris |

I havent used softcups, but I read here, that they do have a sharp edge. All the other Cups can be used over and over again. They last up to 10 years. There was somewhere the post of a woman, that she used the Softcps more than once, but I still think in the end you will spend more money on them. I think you use the softcups not that long, because the are made of a different material. Except for the Keeper the others are made of silione where baktereas (?) can't grow. The cups can be cleaned unter cold water. Some spots maybe need a litte rubbing with an old toothbrush or "watte". You can put it in your dishwasher if you want too. Anfter the period you put it a bit in hot water and it is as new.
If you don't have a very heavy flow, you will hardly ever come into the situation where you have to change the cups outside of your home. Most here only change them in the morning and in the evening. But even when, you yust wash your hands good, use wet papers, which you can take with you, or just use the dry paper and put it back. It looks big? It is not that big and most women don't feel it once its at the right place. Inserting needes practice. But after two periods you should be able to do it rather quick.

The Softcup(If you click on the pic you can see it bigger) As Lune was saying the Softcup has another surface, witch seems to be uneven. The Softcup is inserted like a diaphragm, so if you take it out it scratches along your cervix, because the ring is not completely round some feel that it is sharp edged. Pics of a Mooncup compared to a Tampon (and a Batterie). Some Pics: Mooncup, Keeper und Divacup The Divacup is similar to the Lunette If you are concerned about your bladder, and your flow is not to strong you can rinse it it with an electric kettle (for example) before you insert it again (But first clean with cold water, same reason as with clothing). But normally it is sufficient to sterilize it after your menses. (Dishwasher, Microwave or stove (5min in boilling water)) |

On this point of discussion my usual hint: LUNETTE! You donts have to decide what size to take Youll get two lovely finnish sweets along with it ;) As far as i learned here its the easiest to clean ...the MC seems to tend to leek quite often and ...the DC is often critisized as too long and therefore uncomfortable. So...Lunette!

My is deeper inside, the bottom of the Cup is aproximately 1 cm inside. (I cut the Handle off, like most of the others here) At the beginning, when the Handle was still in place it was a little uncomfortable. |

I think wird instead of soll would be right too. (Soll sounds a bit philosophic )

hihi The choice for "soll" is because in Dutch we would say: "..of het lukken zal" So, no philosophical blood in my veins ;) too bad...! |

Congratulations to your Lunette. When my Mooncup someday will be broken, the Lunette will be my next cup.
